A simple yet elegant charcuterie board featuring fresh figs, honey, creamy cheeses, and cured meats, perfect for autumn gatherings. This board is designed to be approachable, forgiving, and genuinely fun to put together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 fresh Black Mission or Brown Turkey figs, halved
  • 1/4 cup good-quality local honey (mild wildflower, orange blossom, or clover)
  • 4 ounces aged Manchego, sliced thin
  • 4 ounces creamy Brie or Camembert, at room temperature
  • 4 ounces blue cheese (Gorgonzola or Roquefort)
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, folded into ribbons
  • 4 ounces soppressata or salami, sliced thin
  • 1 cup crispy water crackers or buttery crackers
  • 1/2 cup sliced baguette, toasted lightly
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts or pecans
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots or dates
  • A few sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme
  • Flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper (optional)
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mixed olives (Castelvetrano or Kalamata)

Instructions

  1. Place small bowls of honey, olives, and any other dips on the board first. Then position the cheeses (Manchego, Brie, blue cheese) at different points around the board, leaving space between them. Ensure Brie is at room temperature.
  2. Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons and place near the Brie. Arrange soppressata slices in a slight fan pattern next to the Manchego.
  3. Scatter halved figs around the board, tucking some near the blue cheese and others near the prosciutto. Add dried apricots or dates in small clusters.
  4. Arrange water crackers and toasted baguette slices in small piles or overlapping rows. Sprinkle toasted walnuts or pecans in empty spaces.
  5. Tuck rosemary or thyme sprigs here and there. Drizzle honey directly over the Brie or blue cheese. If using, add flaky sea salt over nuts and cracked black pepper over figs. Optionally drizzle balsamic glaze over Manchego.
  6. Step back and check balance. Adjust as needed to ensure a mix of colors and textures. Add an extra handful of nuts at the end for a generous look.

Notes

For best flavor, let cheeses sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Toast nuts in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes to enhance flavor. If making ahead, assemble up to 2 hours in advance, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and refrigerate. Add fresh herbs and honey drizzle just before serving. Leftovers keep for 2-3 days in the fridge; store components separately.
