A quick and easy iced coffee recipe featuring brown sugar and oat milk, inspired by a cozy memory. This comforting drink comes together in under 5 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots of espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Oat milk foam (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)
  • Cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew ½ cup of strong coffee or pull 2 shots of espresso. It should be hot.
  2. While the coffee is hot, pour about 2 tablespoons of it into a small bowl or measuring cup. Add 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (if using). Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour the brown sugar syrup into the rest of the hot coffee and stir well. Let it cool slightly if desired.
  4. Fill a tall glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour the sweetened coffee over the ice. Stir briefly to chill the coffee.
  6. Pour 1 cup of oat milk over the coffee and ice. Do not stir yet.
  7. Stir everything together until the coffee and oat milk are fully combined. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  8. Optional: Froth ¼ cup of oat milk and spoon on top. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Notes

For best results, use hot coffee to dissolve the brown sugar completely. Shake oat milk before pouring. For a less watery drink, use coffee ice cubes. The coffee mixture can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
