A fun, portable twist on a classic charcuterie board. Fill paper cones with turkey, cheese, crackers, and fruit for an easy, no-fuss appetizer that lets guests mingle and snack with ease.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 paper cones or large ice cream cones
  • 1 pound deli-sliced turkey breast, rolled or folded
  • 8–10 slices prosciutto or salami (optional)
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 4 ounces brie or camembert, sliced into wedges
  • 1 cup assorted crackers (e.g., buttery Ritz and pretzel crackers)
  • ½ cup roasted almonds or pecans
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes, washed
  • ½ cup cornichons or baby dill pickles
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • ¼ cup honey mustard or whole-grain mustard
  • ¼ cup fig jam or apricot preserves

Instructions

  1. Set up your board: Place a large board or baking sheet on your counter. Arrange small bowls for dips and spreads in the center or on one side.
  2. Prepare the cones: Open paper cones so they stand upright. Place them around the board, spacing them evenly (about 8-10 cones).
  3. Fill the cones with turkey: Roll or fold deli turkey slices into tight cylinders or loose ribbons. Gently tuck 2-3 slices into the bottom of each cone, leaving room for other ingredients.
  4. Add the cheese: Drop a few cubes of cheddar and a mozzarella pearl or two into each cone. If using brie, place a small wedge on top of the turkey.
  5. Add the crunch and fruit: Sprinkle a few almonds or pecans into each cone. Add a small cluster of grapes or tuck them into the side. Drop in 2-3 cornichons per cone. Finish with a sprinkle of dried cranberries.
  6. Arrange the extras: Fill empty spaces on the board with extra crackers, nuts, and grapes. Place small bowls of mustard and fig jam nearby.
  7. Final touch: Step back and look at your board. Add a few more grapes or a sprinkle of fresh herbs like rosemary for color. Serve immediately.

Notes

Assemble the board just before serving to prevent cones from getting soggy. For a vegetarian version, swap turkey for roasted vegetables. For a lower-sodium option, use low-sodium deli turkey and unsalted nuts.
