Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal (about one standard box)
  • 1 cup raw almonds (whole or slivered)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists (broken into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup cheese crackers (like Goldfish or Cheez-Its)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick, melted)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fine sea salt (to taste, start with 1/4 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Spray a large roasting pan or rimmed baking sheet lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine 9 cups Rice Chex cereal, 1 cup raw almonds, 1 cup broken pretzel twists, and 1 cup cheese crackers.
  4. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter. Remove from heat and whisk in 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, the entire packet of dry ranch seasoning, 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if using).
  5. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dry ingredients. Gently fold everything together until every piece is lightly coated.
  6. Transfer the coated mixture to the prepared roasting pan and spread into an even, single layer.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the counter (at least 30 minutes).
  9. Once cool, taste and add fine sea salt to your preference, starting with 1/4 teaspoon and tossing well.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan; use two pans if needed. Fresh rosemary is non-negotiable for best flavor. Cool completely before storing to maintain crunch. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. To re-crisp, spread on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F for 5-7 minutes.
