A quick and easy one-pan honey garlic salmon with asparagus that comes together in under 25 minutes. Perfect for cozy nights when you need a comforting, healthy meal with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin on or off)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound, woody ends trimmed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, melted butter, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside about 2 tablespoons of the glaze for brushing later.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly.
  4. Trim woody ends off asparagus. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange around the salmon on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush the honey garlic mixture generously over the salmon fillets. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the asparagus.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness. Halfway through (around 7 minutes), brush salmon with reserved glaze.
  7. Optional: For extra caramelization, switch oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Let salmon rest on the pan for 2-3 minutes. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over everything before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature salmon (take out of fridge 15-20 minutes before cooking). Don’t overcrowd the pan. Watch the honey glaze carefully to prevent burning. For medium-rare salmon, aim for 125°F internal temperature; for well-done, 140°F.
