This easy fall treat transforms candy corn into something irresistible with salty popcorn, buttery coating, and a beautiful white chocolate drizzle. It’s a quick, no-bake snack that’s perfect for Halloween parties, movie nights, or any cozy autumn gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels, or one standard bag of microwave popcorn, popped and unbuttered)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional but recommended)
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn. If using kernels, pop them in an air popper or on the stovetop. If using microwave popcorn, pop one bag and remove any unpopped kernels. You want about 8 cups total. Spread the popcorn out on your baking sheet lined with parchment paper and pick out any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the butter. In your large microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of salted butter in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds. Stir it until it’s completely melted. If it’s not quite there, give it another 10 seconds. You don’t want it boiling, just melted.
  3. Add the popcorn and vanilla. Pour your popped popcorn into the bowl with the melted butter. Add the 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Toss everything gently with your spatula until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  4. Add the candy corn. Sprinkle 1 cup of candy corn over the buttered popcorn. Gently fold it in so the candy corn is distributed throughout. Don’t stir too hard or the candy corn will start to break apart.
  5. Melt the white chocolate. In your small microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of white chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. This usually takes about 60-90 seconds total.
  6. Drizzle the white chocolate. Using a fork or small whisk, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Move your hand back and forth across the bowl to get even coverage.
  7. Spread and set. Transfer the coated popcorn back to your parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread it into an even layer. If you’re using flaky sea salt, sprinkle a pinch over the top now while the chocolate is still wet.
  8. Let it set. Allow the white chocolate to harden completely at room temperature. This takes about 20-30 minutes. If you’re impatient, you can pop the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  9. Break it up. Once the chocolate is set, break the popcorn into clusters.

Notes

For best texture, eat within 24 hours. Do not use pre-buttered popcorn as the white chocolate won’t stick. Watch white chocolate carefully when melting as it burns easily. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Do not refrigerate.
